Perim Armaments DCSR Mark II
Military Issue DCSR Mk. II
The standard service rifle in the Democratic Colonies Military is the DCSR Mk. II, or Democratic Colonies Service Rifle Mark II, designed and manufactured by Perim Armaments of the Perim Nealon Regal Group.
While based on the Democratic Colonies Service Rifle, which was designed without the benefit of modern advanced technologies, the DCSR Mk. II incorporates a number of technological advances which more than adequately address any shortcomings due to this. The most notable technological update to the design has been the adoption of the rocket-assisted 8.25 mm SuperJet round, but improvements in the materials used in the construction of the DCSR Mk. II have also allowed for a more durable yet lighter weight rifle.
Accuracy and power were maintained as design priorities for the DCSR Mk. II, which is what led to the adoption of the rocket-assisted 8.25 mm SuperJet round. To better facilitate accurate long range fire, the DCSR Mk. II comes standard with an integrated lightweight bipod that can be folded up and against the body of the rifle when not in use, as well as a enhanced barrel liner. The DCSR-II can be modified for left-handed or right-handed users, or have the integrated bipod detached or attached, with the simple tools included in the standard cleaning and maintenance kit.
While advances in material science have allowed for the creation of lubricants capable of allowing for prolonged usage of the DCSR Mk. II even in the vacuums and extreme temperatures of space, these advanced lubricants are much more expensive than conventional, traditional lubricants and thus are only issued if combat in space or vacuumous environments is anticipated.
A Picatinny rail system allows for the attachment of various accessories and sighting equipment as required. Lights and laser sights are commonly seen attachments to the picatinny rails of in service DCSR Mk. IIs. A bayonet lug allows for the mounting of the Marshal Anderson Group Mk I Inertron Sword Bayonet.

Civilian Market DCSR Mk. II SB
Perim Armaments also manufactures a variant of the DCSR Mk. II with a shortened barrel, known as the DCSR Mk. II SB. This variant is used by military specialists such as combat medical teams, technical staff, and other personnel valuing a shorter and more compact weapon over a longer barrel.
The DCSR Mk. II SB is also popular in the civilian and law enforcement markets, where more moderate range engagements can be expected.
